Rachael G. King, Founder & CEO
Hello and welcome to Pod People’s first blog post! As you may know, we’re an audio production and staffing company. Over the last few years we’ve built a carefully curated network of the best audio creators across the globe, made an awful lots of audio, and learned a LOT along the way.
We will be using this platform to share our hard-earned best practices, provide resources and guidance for those of you who want to learn more about this space, and highlight some of the coolest projects and people from our community! If, after getting a taste for what we do and recognizing how good we are at it, you’re interested in potentially working with us or joining our community, I invite you to shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or engage with us on our socials!
The audio industry is a fast-moving space, which is exactly why we love it so much – it’s constantly growing and evolving. As the field continues to change, our company’s unique positioning only serves to further underscore just how integral we are to the industry. We know that everything we do has the potential to set new precedents and lay the framework to make it better, for all people – both in front of and behind the mic.
Driven by my love for the audio space, I started Pod People in 2017. I saw an opportunity for a new kind of company that would help match great projects with talented audio professionals. There were so many brands that wanted to get into the podcast game, but had no idea how to go about it — I knew we could show them the way and make it easy to create the best shows and build the most perfect teams to make them.
On the community side, we’ve taken a fragmented workforce of independent freelancers, who generally operated without the resources and infrastructure of a production company, and offered them respect and security. They know they can trust us because they know that every new project we bring them as a potential job has been vetted, the scope of work has been defined, and we’ve made sure the rate is fair. We don’t take advantage of our workforce, we support them.
Aside from our audio professionals, we’ve spent some time building an impressive core team who you’ll have the opportunity to meet both here and on this blog in the coming months.
Equipped with a global community of audio professionals that have our back as much as we do theirs and our dedicated internal team, we’re ready to take on the world, or at least , the audio industry (which, for us, IS the world).
I invite you to listen to our company podcast, Pod People’s Podcast (for People Who Make Podcasts), to get a peek into how we work and why we do what we do!
